[I. The Mortal]
I fear it, I know it
Cannot stop it
Where to go, who will listen
I'm so alone and so afraid
Death itself is not prolonged
But I'm not prepared to be
Skybound...
[II. Perspective One: The Bigot, The False Prophet]
It's about the destination, not the journey
Who needs proof when you have faith?
Who wants explanation when you're in a hurry
Get on the bandwagon, don't wait and don't tempt fate
Cast a shadow on the world and
Cast your doubts upon the faithless
Become more than just a mortal man
Come to heaven and feel weightless
Is this not what you want to hear?
But there's a God that you must fear!
Are you sick of not having all the answers?
It's so simple, they're right here!
This is not what you want to hear
Walk away and close your ears
There's no way to get the answers
It's so simple, they aren't here
[III. Perspective Two: No Fear, No Regrets]
Death, instantaneous,
Everything has lead us to this point
We can't prevent it, or circumvent it but we
Can just ignore the clock
Time slipping outwards from our souls
Nothing matters anymore, everything is trivial
We kill ourselves to be cogs in the machine
Then we use our oil to keep it spinning
We're mortal men and women trapped under sky
We don't have wings, but we have consciousness
And that's a gift we take for granted
And so what if we might not fly?
Some goals are arbitrary
And does it matter if you're not heard?
The less they see, the less they scorn
And maybe life doesn't need a reason
To be special
Don't take anything for granted
Anymore
[IV. Soulsearch]
Wander Earth
Sacred pilgrimage
Define my life
Discover death
(instrumental)
[V. The Mortal: Epitaph]
We fade to dust as our
World collapses on itself
Leave behind our treasures and we
Lose our perspective
And at the end of the journey
We are skybound in spirit, not in soul
Come from whence we came
and fade to dust
Throughout my life
I've feared the sky
But now I understand that
We are bound to death
Throughout our lives
We are bound to the sky
We live our days, under the clouds
We fade to dust and die, skybound

Courage is often mistaken for Insanity. In my case, I'd say it's an even mix of both. C:
QUIT BEING SUCH A GARFUNKALITE AND CUT THAT THAR DANDY SHNIT, YA FRIKING PIECE OF BULL SHRAPNEL!
I. Am a sassybackfratter. Do not provoke me. You will die.
